Business Article standards and pricing

A Business Article tells a business's own story. It is written or prepared with the business, labelled clearly, reviewed by an editor and published only where it is relevant.

Article options

Article services include content submission or preparation and editorial review. Publication is limited to eligible participating surfaces and remains subject to applicable content standards.

Plan credits: the Multi-Location plan includes two self-written article credits each billing period and the Network plan includes five. Unused plan credits do not carry over. Purchased credits remain available for twelve months and are never removed by a plan change. See plans and pricing.

The standards

1. 1. A Business Article is promotional publishing, never a paid correction

   Essential public facts in a Business Record — name, address, phone, hours, website, category — are corrected free of charge, always. Payment buys writing, preparation and promotional publishing, nothing else.

2. 2. Every business gets one complimentary introductory article

   Once a Business Record is verified, the business may write one introductory article at no cost. It is offered once, never renews, is not transferable and has no cash value.

3. 3. Every article is reviewed before publication

   Complimentary, self-written and professionally prepared articles all enter the same editorial review. A reviewer may approve, request changes or decline.

4. 4. Payment does not guarantee publication

   Publication depends on geographic relevance, the locations selected, surface eligibility, editorial standards and reviewer approval. Where an article cannot be published, the credit remains available for a revised article.

5. 5. Disclosures are fixed by the article option

   Business-submitted, professionally prepared and sponsored articles each carry their own disclosure. Disclosures cannot be edited or removed by the business.

6. 6. One article record, many relationships

   An article is stored once and connected to the business, its selected locations and the places it concerns. It is never duplicated per location or per domain.

7. 7. Independent editorial is never for sale

   Independent local information and reporting is produced separately, is never presented as purchased business content, and cannot be bought, influenced or withdrawn by payment.
